The Comeback Kid

Duke, Daisy's brother came from the same hoarding situation, but he was in much worse shape than her. We noticed immediately that something was wrong with this sweet boy. When we first had him he was so dehydrated and so infested with hookworms that he was too weak to even open his mouth to drink water. He couldn't eat without assistance, or drink water without assistance. We ended up having to give him subcutaneous fluids everyday for a week to get him hydrated again. After deworming, and getting him hydrated again he is a brand new dog! Duke did so well with everything we did for him and never stopped fighting to get well again! Duke has a very special place in our hearts because we weren't sure at first if he was going to make it. Now he has energy for days and LOVES to eat. He runs around with his sister, and has the cutest little "Jumping spells" where he'll hop around and bark until Daisy plays with him, or get someone to give him a toy to check out. He loves his bed, and loves to play with chew toys. Duke is roughly 10-12 weeks old and has been dewormed, put on prevention, and has had his first round of shots!
